Julianna's Insights on Giaan Rooney

This week I am thrilled to present my interview with Giaan Rooney, which also coincides with this month’s Insight Magazine. As the guest editor of the August Insight Magazine, which was also a joy, I was able to present a series of articles from a range of contributors as well as interview covergirl Giaan about her achievements, motivation, transition from pool to media, her use of intuition throughout her life and excitingly, her future.

The interview is in four parts for your viewing pleasure so please click on the links to watch: Part 1 - her swimming career and decision to leave; Part 2 - her transition to media; Part 3 – my psychic reading of her future (this week's video on our home page); and Part 4 – my psychic warning about a job offer and Giaan’s discussion about using her intuition.

So What Is Giaan Really Like?

I watched Giaan swim her way into Gold and Silver Medals at Olympic and Commonwealth Games and thought that she was an incredible, strong and focused young woman to have achieved all of that by 23 years of age. I mean seriously, who at 15 with only three years of club swimming competitions behind them suddenly unleashes their potential into the global arena and does so with an incredibly beautiful humanity? Unbelievable.

Then when I heard that Giaan was retiring at the ripe old age of 23 I was yet again in awe - this woman could have gone even further so what inspired her to change her direction? So many questions bounced through my brain whenever I would see Giaan on the cover of a magazine with that amazing smile.

When Giaan enters a room I must say that her strength of who she is, her focus on how she does who she is and her incredible “X” factor scream out at you. Obviously Giaan is a stunning woman, you would be blind to not notice, yet her uncanny strength of personality and gentle humanity are her stand out factors to me. You simply cannot ignore her presence and Giaan has not even truly explored this level of herself as yet.

She is intelligent, intuitive, quick to laugh and very open to a range of ideas and discussion topics that demonstrate her maturity on an emotional and professional level. In other words, she’s even nicer in person than she appears on TV.

What I Learned From Giaan

The great thing about interviewing a range of people is what I am able to learn from them in addition to finding out what I can to share with you. What I took away from this interview was that you must know what you represent and what you will do to look after yourself, no matter who you are.

Giaan is a woman with an incredibly successful pedigree as a swimmer, yet she wants to add so much more into the world. Let us put her capacity into perspective: this is a young woman who is world-renowned for her Olympic and Commonwealth Games achievements, yet she is incredibly intelligent, creative, focused and ambitious to simply be the best that Giaan and no-one else can be.

During the interview we discussed some of the opportunities that have been presented to Giaan and what Giaan would also like to do. Time and time again, what was obvious to me is that Giaan will not compromise, no matter what the apparent opportunity, on what she feels she can add true value and intelligence to.

For a woman as well known for her beauty as she is for her accomplishments you can only imagine the opportunities that would come to her and how her character must be tested. Yet Giaan is strong in her self-belief, so much so in my opinion that her media career will become as renowned one day as her swimming accomplishments. Giaan was born to add to the world and influence the world to grow and develop itself, and she’ll take us on a great ride while she does it.

When I think back over the interview it makes me also realize that as parents we can give important gifts to our children to become so incredible - the gifts of acceptance and support. Giaan was born to achieve and her parents gave of themselves for her to do this. Look at the outcome!

So enjoy this interview as you will get to see such an amazing woman – one who I predict will go on to become an icon. And don’t forget to grab a copy of this month’s Insight Magazine – available at newsagents and Border’s Books nationally from today - for Giaan’s personal insights on a range of topics and to read the special articles that I have helped to collate. Just look for Giaan on the cover!
