Is it attitude, motivation or intuition that leads us to higher levels of success? Read on to find out.
It can be easy to think that who we are as individuals and our day-to-day experiences in business and life are separate. However, this neglects the role of our MINDS as the creator of our worlds, both external and internal. We give life to how we experience business by the ways in which we think about it.
The business you are running; the family you are nurturing; the relationship you are building; have all occurred, as a result of your own creation. The way these facets of your life are developing, are all products grown from your own personal beliefs, values, cultural influences, assumptions and decisions.
Your Mind Is Your Key
Different ways of thinking create different results. Some mind-sets generate and accelerate prosperity, while other mind-sets can systematically demise, if not sabotage, every aspect of your life. This extends to business and personal experiences alike. Our minds are the key to success or failure.
In order to find a true synchronistic balance between happiness and success, first we must understand how to find and maintain a harmonious balance in our day-to-day activities. After all, every experience in life is merely a gathering of information. It is how we choose to reference point this information in our life that creates a positive or negative influence in the way we conduct ourselves in the future. Therefore, our general mental attitude and how we choose to think are crucial.
Mental Attitude & Inner Confidence
Many successful people have learnt the value of mental attitude and inner confidence.
To attain successful strategies and outcomes in any application of life, it is vital to understand the importance of developing these qualities, then learn how to use them as a founding structure for future endeavours.
In order to learn how to bounce back quickly from adversity; be highly motivated; think creatively and make smart decisions; it depends on where our psyche (inner-self/inner-drive), is originating from. More importantly, how our psyche integrates within our life as a whole.
The mental attitude characteristics I am referring to are shared by most people. They are part of our raw nature and are present in every individual to varying degrees.
Managing Your Motivation
The key to being successful is to learn to identify, accept, trust, nurture and continually evolve these intuitive skills by developing the necessary tool base required.
Motivation without intuition is merely a script without imagination. It is a regimented formation of words within generic strategies, but it is not creative, flexible or innovative. Its growth is therefore, ultimately capped.
Motivation refers to those things inside you that energize you to make things happen. Understanding why these things are important to you is vital. It is a key ingredient of persistence.
Recognizing your PSYCHE will create a clearer inner focus, allowing you to be more proactive in problem solving, broadening learning abilities and creating greater resilience in the face of adversity.
In effect, it is this energy that gives you the resources you need to ‘Make it Happen’. In the absence of integration within your psyche and motivational level, there will be limited, if any sustainable or successful actions. If a business was a car, then the by-product of integration between the psyche and motivation would be the fuel in the tank.
The current ‘broad trend’ within the Motivation and Coaching Industry does not fully take into account the value of the psyche, or intuition that we all have on tap. Nor does it take into serious contention how the integrated, congruent individual is extremely powerful and evolutionary. Whilst some coaches address the importance of balance, most lack the understanding and intuition to recognize and develop the strength of the psyche with in an individual. Significantly, look at how all entrepreneurs coupled with a well-formed strategy will also rely on their “gut instinct”.
Most successful people are guided by different influences ranging from family values, personal challenges, creativity, and freedom to experience their own personal achievements.
The common and most significant factor is that they all know what their purpose is in life. They know what their most important values are and choose to behave consistently with them. Interestingly, whilst successful people talk of wealth, money is typically seen as the medium for expressing their other values more fully and not as an end in itself.
So what are our values?
How do we sort through them with integrity, honesty and clarity? Tap into your psyche and ask yourself a few questions to identify your important values.
Step 1: Identify your important values.
Ask yourself: What is most important to me about being in business – or this relationship – moving overseas – making that business deal?
Why are these steps/actions important to me?
Step 2: Clarify your vision.
The second important feature of motivation is vision.
Vision refers to the image you hold in your mind, of the kind of future you want to create. Your vision might relate to the kind of impact you want your business to have as a whole or the success of a particular product or offering.
Your vision is critical, because it reflects who you are: what your inner psyche is striving to achieve, what you want to become and what you want to create.
It is also an outgrowth of your core values. It is important to define your psyche for motivation, because the attractive qualities of that vision draw you forward into taking action.
One of the exciting things about being in integration with your psyche and motivation, when you are also in a business, is that your business becomes a medium for expressing who you are, as well as making that vision a reality. It allows you to build a bridge within your mind on where you are, and where your future can be.
When you are congruent with your life, you are on track for a truly motivating future because you can clearly see the future you have created, and how it is so worth living for.
This future is real, because you have seen it in your mind. It is defined; it works in all aspects of your life. In addition, the more compelling or attractive this future is, the more motivated we are!
Imagine you are looking into a crystal ball and you can see a clear picture of the future you want to create. Write down all the things you can see, hear, feel, experience.
Step 3: Action a daily psyche/motivation strategy.
The third important ingredient of motivation is taking action. Where your values provide the ‘why’ your vision provides the ‘destination’. Taking action allows you to cross the bridge into your future.
This simple approach to motivation works because it is built around what is right for the individual – you. It’s what you want to create and focuses your psyche’s attention on what is most important.
- Recall your core values – those things that are most important about how you want to approach life – in business – relationships etc and their role in your life as a whole.
- Bring to mind your vision for the future, those things that you most want to create in the world – that attractive future you are drawn towards.
- Bring that vision right up close in your mind as though that were happening right now, so close it no longer seems it is in the distant future.
- Think about the most important thing you need to do, in the near future, to accelerate making your vision a reality.
- Imagine completing that activity successfully and fulfilling ‘A Sense of Achievement’ as you proceed in doing so.
- Begin!
