In my opinion this show rips apart the professionalism in this industry and brings the capacity of a professional psychic to a new all-time low. It draws several areas of concern for me.
Firstly, each Psychic has their own unique skill base as well as a set of tools to access their information from. For example, they could be Clairaudient, Healers, Energetic Readers, Sensory etc. Setting up exercises using actors and other objects that are not real life scenarios only works against these skill bases and fails to highlight true Psychic strengths.
Secondly, whilst I understand why these contestants are on this show - perhaps some thought should be put into the fact that this is not shot in real time, with real people (apart from the contestants’ and judges) and is completely subject to the producers’ whims. Yes, this is reality entertainment, not a show focusing on how a psychic can work within their skill base.
For example, whilst a surgeon knows the human body; a cardiologist or neurologist will work with a set tool base. You are asking people skilled in one tool base to step into another without the honesty of real situations and real time to work it out.
When we were approached by the producer to do this show we refused on the grounds that it would not highlight my capacity, but rather be another foiled, set-up arrangement to undermine all that psychics who operate professionally stand for.
Thirdly, when under pressure, as a disciplined practitioner your professionalism and background will always kick in along with a matured and strong relationship with your Guides. As such, you will trust your information and will work with it. This is not occurring on the show – in fact, the opposite is. Not because the contestants are not skilled enough - but rather I think (and this is just my opinion) because their Guides are not willing to work with scenarios that do not do credit to the spirit world and work only on ego and destruction. As one who works with television regularly I understand what they are looking for and at when it comes to levels of entertainment, but really at what cost to integrity? How many more times can a sceptic say it is just coincidence? And how many times can the contestants be told that they need to trust themselves before the reality of the lack of professionally set up experiments using real people, real situations and real events come into the equation?
Interestingly when I asked this via email of the producers it became quiet. After all how can you test capacity without well thought out, balanced and professional experiments? I’ll stick with my Guides on this and cringe with sadness that yet again the human race for entertainment has tainted the value of Spirit.
